Eighth & Eight is the transitional name for the arts and community spaces at 735 Eighth Ave., New Westminster. Our facility boasts over 57,000 square feet of dynamic and creative space including the Massey Theatre, galleries, seven multipurpose studios including a small stage performance studio, music studio, art studio, dance studio and digital labs. We invite you to discover our eclectic programming opportunities, where you can create, innovate, participate, collaborate and more.
Artist Access Program
The Artist Access Program provides affordable rentals to a wide range of artists and artistic organizations of all artistic levels and experiences. Through access, artists can build and develop a community, rallied around the common goals of learning, developing, and creating the arts.
Annual Participant Fees:
- Individual: $40
- Organization: $100
- Student: $20

Community Nights
Community Nights provide artists, creators, activators and more the opportunity to access space, social and networking time between community groups and share the wonderful community spaces now available at Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces at the Massey Theatre Complex for free*. There are ten spaces available ranging from small meeting areas to 1,220 sf studios to 3,000 square foot studios and spaces in between. We are offering a maximum of two-hour blocks for groups in need of space to reconnect and restart their activities and new groups a place to get started in a supportive, barrier-free environment. Coming Home Program
Coming Home Café was a fixture in New West’s 2SLGBTQI+ community until it’s closing in 2022. Now, Coming Home is coming out… again! Led by the fabulous Guy Dubé, Coming Home is back at Eighth & Eight.
Food and Beverage Program
Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces are perfect for hosting private receptions and are available for a pre-show & intermission or a post-show experience for events in any of our spaces. Whether this is fresh pastries and fruit for a morning briefing or cheese and charcuterie for a post show reception. We can tailor our offerings to suit your vision and budget.
